So my daughter got prime rib and I got flouder. Kind of a "menu for dummies" so to soeak. Our waiter had some sympathy for our quizical look(though no real help or explanation) and brought us "another menu" a very small one with about 6 preset meala that took the guess work out. Not veing one to run from a new experience we stuck it out. tripe, bull frog and tree ear option had my daughter ready to split for the door. And you have a paper menu with all kinds of fish and I am sure authentic chic foods but the pig blood. The tables have hot spots in the to cook. I was not sure how to order or what to do. The name sounded good and my daughter and I love spicy Thai food and chinese food so we strolled in. I should have checked a review just to know what this would be. It was the best Chinese Food from a restaurant that I have ever eaten in North Carolina, and rivals some of the top San Francisco Chinese places. But if you like real Chinese food you owe it to yourself to check this place out. You may or may not like the food because it IS the real deal, and if you have never had authentic Chinese food it can seem "different". We brought home enough food for the three of us to have another meal each. The total, including tax was almost exactly $100.00. We also had some scallion pancakes and seaweed salad. A manager came over and explained it to my wife. The menu is confusing and the waiter could not explain it, even in Chinese. My wife and Chinese daughter pronounced the food authentic and delicious. There are lots of vegetables in the pot and we had enough food for at least five people. We also had seaweed salad and scallion pancakes. We had the medium spicy dry pot with shrimp, lobster, golden pepper flounder, and marinated beef. Most people were eating Hot Pot as that is their lunch special. I took this, correctly as it turns out, as a good sign. There was a waiting line at lunch today, and there were only three white people in the restaurant, including me. I know the difference between real Chinese food and "American Chinese Food" the latter being about 98% of what is called "Chinese Food" in the USA, and bearing no resemblance whatsoever to the real deal. I lived in Beijing for several years, and my wife is Chinese.
